Emergency Response Technician Program
The "Emergency Response Technician Program" offered by Canadian Industrial Rescue is a comprehensive training initiative designed to prepare individuals for critical roles in emergency response and rescue operations across various industrial and workplace settings. This program is specifically tailored to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to respond effectively to emergencies and ensure the safety of personnel in high-risk environments.
Key Features of the Emergency Response Technician Program:
The Emergency Response Technician Program by Canadian Industrial Rescue is ideal for individuals seeking careers as emergency response technicians, rescue personnel, safety officers, and any roles involving emergency preparedness and response. It equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively handle emergencies, mitigate risks, and ensure the safety of themselves and others in the workplace.
The three-day confined space rescue course is an intensive and comprehensive training program designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required for safe and effective rescue operations in confined spaces. Throughout the course, participants will undergo theoretical sessions covering topics such as hazard identification, atmospheric monitoring, and rescue planning. Practical hands-on exercises will simulate realistic confined space scenarios, including the use of specialized equipment and techniques for patient packaging and extraction. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork, communication, and decision-making in high-stress situations. Additionally, participants will learn about relevant regulations and standards to ensure compliance with safety protocols. By the end of the course, attendees will be well-prepared to respond to confined space emergencies, demonstrating proficiency in both theoretical understanding and practical application of rescue procedures.
We introduce students to different types of patient packaging devices available in the industry. We will instruct them on the use and setup of each device and give them the opportunity to use each one in realistic scenarios.
Each student will get the chance to try on and perform a rescue using a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and a Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus (SABA). We will go over pre-use checks and inspections. Air management, safety procedures.
There are many different types of equipment available to Confined Space Rescue. We will discuss the use and operations of some common pieces of equipment such as, constructing and using a 4:1 mechanical advantage system, set up and use a tripod with a SRL-R, use of different beam clamps for anchor points, rescue harnesses, and lots more!!
